Monthly Programs
In keeping with our purpose to promote and advance fiber art through the education of our members and the public, DAFA offers programs through the monthly meetings, play days, and workshops. Non-members are welcome to attend.
Programs
- July 26, 2010:
Michael Cook will present Silk: From Moth to Cloth. Michael will cover silk from a
variety of angles, including its history, entomology, production of silk fiber, and the use of silk in the fiber arts. He has published numerous print and online articles, in addition to hosting a website, www.wormspit.com.
April Soncrant will demonstrate how to make folded journals at the mini workshop beginning at 5:30pm. Supply list should include: scissors, metal ruler, pencil, markers, bone folder, awl or needle for piercing, and collage materials. Kit fee is $2.
The programs begin at 7:00pm at The Point, Center for Arts and Education on the campus of C.C. Young Retirement Community, 4829 Lawther West, in Dallas.
